Repair and Maintenance Technician (temporary)

Manatee Holdings Ltd. is currently looking to fill a temporary role of Repair and Maintenance Technician for our Saltwater operations located along the shoreline of Royston, BC.
As a Repair and Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for maintaining all physical assets of our hatchery and dive boats, including building repairs, vehicle maintenance, generators, compressors, buildings, engines, pumps, electrical, hydraulic, and a variety of other equipment. Your job will also be to work with professional tradespeople for jobs that need their level of specialized expertise, as required
POSITION DETAILS:
Status: Full-time position for three weeks
Shift: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, for three weeks
Wage: $22.00 per hour
Benefits: Employer-paid benefits will only happen if this short-term employment should become a permanent position
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Providing support to our hatchery operations through repair and maintenance operations to ensure our operations continue to run smoothly while growing our shellfish from seed to harvest.
- Conducting routine maintenance to equipment in order to eliminate downtime due to equipment failure.
- Repairing equipment in a priority sequence while being conscious of time restraints to minimize downtime.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance logs and record keeping of inventories and daily work completed.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and bio-secure site by performing simple maintenance and keeping a clean work site at all times.
- Operating heavy machineries, such as forklifts and boats
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- You have previous education or work experience in repair and maintenance, working on generators, compressors and small engines with some basic plumbing and electrical as well.
- Boat Maintenance experience and work experience in a marine environment are an asset.
- Hands-on general building maintenance, including basic plumbing and 12/24 volt DC wiring systems.
- PCOC, SVOP, ROC-M confined space training and computer skills (MS Word/Excel) are an asset.
- You consider yourself a team player, get along great with others and are always looking to lend a hand
- You can also work independently and without supervision; you take initiative and apply your critical thinking skills to solve problems
- You are physically fit, enjoy being outside, are willing to work in all types of weather conditions.
- You are dependable, work safely, and have a strong work ethic and positive attitude

Manatee Holdings Ltd. is currently looking for an Accounting Assistant position consists of general office administration with a focus on accounting. Part of the accounting team, the ideal candidate will have a two-year diploma in business administration with a focus on accounting / combined with 2 – 3 years working in an office setting in accounting. The ideal candidate will also have a strong attention to detail, professional attitude, be a self-starter and work exceptionally in a fast-paced team environment.

- Primary Accounting
- Payroll support
- Assisting in Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables support

- Starting wage of $12 / hr.
